Accounting students will learn to plan, keep, and
analyze financial records. Accounting
procedures covered will include those for all types of businesses. Students will learn to maintain financial
records, interpret financial statements, and analyze elements of accounting
essential to the operation of a business. This course is recommended for all students
for its value in keeping both personal and business financial records and
especially for students who are going to pursue a career in business. Included in the curriculum is the learning
and use of automated accounting software and procedures
Accounting II

This course is for students who desire a further
study of accounting, entry-level job skills, and effective personal financial
management skills; learning activities are directed toward management
decision-making. The course begins with
a comprehensive review of the accounting cycle.
Payroll tax records, cost accounting, inventory control, depreciation,
and corporate and management accounting are emphasized. It is especially recommended
for students planning to major in business.
Included in the curriculum is the learning and use of automated
accounting software and procedures.
Advanced Business Computer Applications

Do you know your rights if you are stopped by a law
enforcement officer? We want students to
be informed of their rights and obligations in business and personal legal
dealings. We will review the law as it
relates to our daily lives and have discussions and updates on current events
and cases in law. The court system,
criminal and civil law, and valid contracts will be subjects of our study.
For further study of the law and legal
applications, we suggest students enroll in Business Law II.

understand the legal world in which they live.
Students will expand their vocabulary and sharpen their abilities to think

recognize legal problems, utilize professional counsel, and make decisions by weighing
the rights of all involved. Current
cases and events in the news will be the basis of discussions.

listen and read for understanding, organize notes, and review and prepare for
essay and objective examinations.
Development of spelling and vocabulary skills will also be included.
Personal Keyboarding

Have you tried to complete a research paper for a
class but have been slowed down by having to “hunt and peck” the keys? You can learn the keyboard accurately without
looking at the keyboard. The proper
knowledge of the computer keyboard is vital in today’s world. This keyboarding class is the basis for all
computer classes. This semester course will concentrate on proper touch
keyboarding technique, development of speed and accuracy, and the ten-key pad. Besides learning the keyboard, students will
also learn to format basic types of documents for personal, educational, and
business use. A proficiency test is
available for prerequisite purposes, but not for credit. There is also a test for credit that may be
taken at the Education Service Center.

Web Page Design

In this course, students will be planning,
designing, and launching a complete website. The first half of the semester
will be devoted to creating Web pages using a form of HTML page definition
language. Students will design their own
Web site, which will incorporate class project materials. During the second half of the semester the
students will learn how to create and edit web pages using Microsoft FrontPage.
Word Processing

Today’s students need to be able to do more than
create, save, and print. By enrolling in
this class, you will learn how to use the advanced features of MS Word. Many of the topics covered include desktop
publishing, mail merge, and the creating of tables, charts, and graphs. Also, students will learn to use a digital
camera and scanner to produce digitally enriched documents. At the end of this course, you will be
prepared to take a test that could qualify you as a Core and Expert user of
Microsoft Word in the Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) certification program.
