Detentions

Detention is before or after school in room S102 from either 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. or from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. and is monitored by the PASS supervisor, Mr. Copeland. When assigning a detention please fill out the boxes for the student’s name, grade, date, and teacher. For “Date(s)” write the date it needs to be served by, allowing two days for one detention, and show the room as S102. Check the box for reason and/or write a description. Have the student initial the top or write “refused to sign” and give the white copy to the student. Put the yellow copy in Mr. Copeland's mailbox.

Office Referrals

Seniors report to Mr. Jones this year, while juniors report to Mr. Brown. If you send a student out of class please send a quick email to the appropriate assistant principal stating what happened. If you send an email, a referral form is not necessary. You may fill out a referral form or write in the “other” portion of the detention notice and send it with the student; however, if you do that please call us to let us know that the student is coming. Sometimes the referral slips get 'lost' along the way to the office.

PASS

The PASS in-school suspension program is monitored by Mr. Copeland in room S102. If you have a student in PASS please work with Mr. Copeland to ensure that students have assignments from your class. Students may attend tutoring wile in pass, but it must be arranged in advance and the times to and from must be documented by note or email.

Tutorial

  • Students are responsible for knowing their grades in their classes and are responsible for attending tutoring. Teachers should contact the parent or guardian when students miss tutoring.
  • Each day after tutoring teachers should e-mail the attendance secretary a list of students who were in tutoring that day as well as the names of any students who should have been there but were not. Please put an 11 or 12 next to the student's name for juniors vs. seniors.
  • Students are responsible for notifying teachers that they will be with another teacher during tutoring and have their planner signed for verification.
  • If necessary, the administrators will contact any teachers that may have had no-show students for tutoring to determine if they were in another class or were skipping.
  • The administrators will then contact the no-show students and assign the appropriate discipline as well as go over the tutoring guidelines again.
