  What are End-of-Instruction (EOI) Tests?

Students are required to take End-of-Instruction tests in English II, Algebra I, Biology I, and U.S. History in order to graduate from an Oklahoma high school. No minimum score is required, but scores are recorded on transcripts as Unsatisfactory, Limited Knowledge, Satisfactory, or Advanced Knowledge.

Oklahoma state tests are used for assessing student achievement, targeting student, classroom, and program improvement, and informing parents of student progress. The administration of the Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests fulfills No Child Left Behind (NCLB) and state mandates for testing, and the test results are used for federal and state accountability requirements. The scope and general administration of the Oklahoma State Testing Program is outlined in state law, 70 O.S. 1210.505. Rules that govern the specifics of test administration and other details are available under OAC 210:10-13.

Beginning in 2007-2008, English III, Geometry, and Algebra II will be administered in high school as well, in accordance with recent Oklahoma legislation titled Achieving Classroom Excellence (ACE).
