Woodrow Wilson Elementary School Sandra Kent was named a finalist for the 2008 National Distinguished Principal Award for Oklahoma last week.
Kent was named one of three finalists in a release issued by the Oklahoma Association of Elementary School Principals. The NDP screening committee is scheduled to make its choice by April 25 and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
Kent was recently named as the OAESP's 2008 “District 5A” Administrator of the Year, which automatically put her in the running for the NDP state award.
The other two finalists are Sharon Yeager (Cedar Heights Elementary, Woodward District) and Barbara Crump (Apollo Elementary, Putnam City District).
